Hello, we are writing in regards to many concerns we have about our transaction with a 1994 Formula 280ss vessel, Hull Identification number NRD3221L394, we purchased from North Atlantic Marine Group. We started by email March 31st 2010. We asked for more pictures, if it had been in salt water and if it had a trailer. You responded to all questions, as for pictures you replied you could get some on Monday. I never received any additional pictures, through the whole transaction. I did get an email on April 7th stating There is one torn seat on the boat and we have to repair the cover from the snow it is ripped at the seam. Otherwise it is in good shape. I haven’t gotten a chance to get photos because I want to get it cleaned first. It’s really dirty from the winter. Sorry for the delay.

We sent an email April 26th asking for serial number off engine. Nothing was sent to us the serial number and /or pictures. We decided to drive down and look at boat in person and test drive because of the lack of response of anything else. May 5th 2010 the boat was IN the water when we arrived to test drive. We drove the vessel and found some mechanical problems which your mechanic was unaware of. You in turn ran through your shop and said we needed to buy a new tachometer and all parties agreed we would fix the gimble bearing and tachometer. We agreed to buy vessel for 14,000 North atlantic was going to UPS the title to us the following day as we needed to make a trip back home. Upon receiving Vessel the following week, we realized there were leaks in the hull, we had a fiberglass specialist look into the cracks and found they were on both sides and very damaging. It was 3,000 worth of work they had to redo inside and out of almost the whole front hull. When we looked at this boat it was already in the water so we had no way of knowing there were actual cracks that were leaking. North Atlantic Marine group stated they had had this boat for about 1 ½ years, also the boat was a customers of there’s, so I would think they would have known about these cracks. The one tear in the seat turned to be many more and the whole driver’s side seat was rotted right off; the canvas was ripped all the way around as well as center pieces. We knew there was work that needed to be put in so we are not worried about the money for the canvas nor the seats or cleaning, and we were even okay with the $3,000 for the body work. As for the title we never received it May 7th when we were supposed too, we tried registering boat and they needed original documentation so we called you Friday May 28th you would ship out Tuesday by overnight mail, we never received it didn’t hear from you for a week. You have avoided many calls. It came down too not getting a title but you needed Coast Guard deletion letter. In turn we were strung around for about another month Finally the END of June we received what we needed to register the boat so we could actually use it. WE used the boat 3 times and something wasn’t right we had diagnostics done on the boat and found it was down 2 cylinders. The engine is shot and wasn’t something that just had happened, it was starting for a long time previous. We realize you sold boat AS IS, however you had that boat for minimum of 2 years and it WAS a customers, so you knew that boat inside and out and it had been through your shop plenty of times I am sure. So now when we find out we paid 14,000 for a boat we couldn’t get registered for MONTHS on YOUR end and had to repair the whole front end plus all the little repairs totaling $5,000 we used it 3 times and now NO engine which needs $6,000 to repair is a little much. We are very reasonable people and are not sue happy and take things in stride. But as you can see in writing, this has been a nightmare. We need some compensation, I am writing you this letter as a request I am asking for at least $4000 to just get our boat running. I don’t want anything extra but for everything we have gone through I think it would be the just thing to do. You also Never return calls so I hate to do this but I am giving you 5 business days to get back to us or I will be contacting our lawyer., and we really just wanted to settle this privately. I hope we can come to an agreement on this matter and we hear from you soon. Thank you for your time
